Happy New year everyone! I hope that 2017 will be your best year ever. What better way to start the year than to share a journey post!
The Avila (Waraira Repano National Park):
Seizing the holidays, we decided to go to this beautiful national park named the avila, located in Caracas. They are big mountains surrounding the city and once you’re on the top, you have the most awesome views of the city. The journey is definitely beautiful, entertaining and worth-taking.
How to get there:
To get there, you have to go to the cable car station which is where you take a cable car to go to the top of the mountain where the park is located. Once you’re in the cable car, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the city while waiting to get to the park. The travel from the station to the park is around 10 minutes.
Where to eat:
Once there, you have a variety of options to eat. For instance, if you want sweet, the best places are these types of food stands where there are many delicious things like butter biscuits, chocolate, caramelised apples, ice cream, hot chocolate, strawberry marmalade, etc. If you want have lunch, you can go to many restaurants in the park, there are many options like hamburgers, German food, Pizza, sandwiches and Venezuelan typical food.
What to see:
This park is incredibly attractive and pretty. While you’re in the cable car waiting to get to the top, you have a wonderful view of the city just bellow you. Once in the park, the landscape is pretty awesome, you can see from one side of the mountain the sea and from the other side the city (it’s difficult to see the landscapes due to the mist). There’s also the humble hotel which an old and abandoned structure, but it is a gorgeous attraction of the park. In addition, there are many other activities to do once there like ice skating, visit a old village near the park, etc. This was a good idea to close the year.
Bay of Cata:
Two days later, we decided to go to a beautiful beach located in The Aragua state. To get there, we have to go through the Henri Pittier national park, which is like a jungle. The beach was amazing and it was, definitely, a worth-taking travel.
